Charlie Gilhooley - Business Administrator

Charlie’s visual art, print and arts administration background has led to roles with graphic design studios and advertising planning agencies in both Edinburgh and London. Experience of working with small teams for high profile clients including Nike, Honda, L'Oréal, Shell, Diageo and the British Council proved valuable when Charlie joined craftscotland in October 2008.

As a freelance illustrator active in the sector, Charlie offers an understanding and awareness of many of the issues craftscotland’s designer makers face as artists and small independent businesses. After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art specialising in Illustration, she later continued her study at University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins, with focus on Graphic and Communication Design. Her work has been exhibited and published both in the UK and internationally and she is part of Edinburgh based collective Smoke.

Charlie is enjoying exploring craft for the first time and discovering the crossover of material, concept and technology, applied art shares with fine and design art.
