| Description | STARTER FOR 6 – NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS NESTA’s Starter for 6 programme provides enterprise training, support and grant awards of up to £10,000 to innovative business start-ups across Scotland. Now in its 3rd year, applications for the 2009 programme are open to individuals and teams with a strong business idea in the science, technology and/or creative industry sectors. What we offer § Four days of training giving participants new tools and ways of looking at the business as it turns from an idea into reality § Opportunities to meet like minded individuals at sessions and networking events, hear from entrepreneurial speakers and sector experts § PR opportunities and support § Coaching support between each training session § Subsidy payment of £250 to assist with attending the training § On completion of the training, participants have the opportunity to pitch for up to £10,000 of grant funding to take the business forward Who we are looking for § Outstanding individuals and teams who have innovative business ideas with commercial potential § Ideas that come from any of the faculties of science, technology or the arts/creative industries § Applicants must be either pre-trading or trading up to a maximum of 1 year § Open to anyone in Scotland with training taking place in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness § Read more about the 142 innovative businesses we have supported so far here Apply online and find out more: www.nesta.org.uk/starterfor6 Application deadline: 26 January 2009
