In celebration of Highland 2007, the third Annual General Meeting of craftscotland will take place at the Waterside Inn, 19 Ness Road, Inverness on Thursday 4 October 2007.
This is your opportunity to find out what we have been doing over the past year, hear about our exciting plans for the future and ask any questions you have about our work.
In addition, after our short AGM, there will be an afternoon of speakers and conversation:
• Cathy Shanklands of Highland 2007 and Pamela Conacher will discuss the craft events held in Highland 2007 and present the plans for craft in the Highlands in 2008. • Jeweller Gilly Langton will talk about her participation in the highland schools craft residencies and how it led to a life-changing move to Plockton • Textile artist Deirdre Nelson will talk about her work, including her recent residency in Australia and how the challenge of taking an apple through customs was the inspiration for a whole collection of new work. • A display of craft by makers working in the Highlands including work created for the Six Cities Design Festival
The AGM and afternoon event is open to anyone working in crafts in Scotland, however only makers, retailers and galleries registered on the craftscotland directory are able to vote. At the AGM we will be vote on a special resolution of amendments to the memorandum of craftscotland.
