It is technically possible to do without a core database, however few stakeholders or makers are equipped for this scenario so this was not a realistic option to meet the requirements for the website. A distinct database has been established which supports the required search functionality, aids website performance, allows website administration and maintenance and, most importantly, provides portability regardless of which contractor is employed to manage the website.
