Jewellery that Dazzles in Edinburgh

Dazzle, the annual exhibition of contemporary jewellery, comes of age this year as it celebrates its 21st year at the Edinburgh Festival.

The exhibition is a rare opportunity for jewellery lovers to see and buy unique pieces by over 40 leading designers from across the UK and Europe. 

Scottish designers taking part include Donna Barry, Nicola Becci, Lilian Busch, Carla Edwards, Shona Fidgett, Grainne Morton, Kaz Robertson and Dot Sim .

With over 3,000 pieces of work on display, the exhibition has achieved a reputation for showcasing the best in new talent, with some of the most exciting pieces around. The wide variety of materials used – from silver and gold to coloured resin – is reflected in the prices which range from £8 to several thousands of pounds.

Customers over the years have included Dawn French, Lenny Henry, Rik Mayall, Barbara Broccoli, Pierce Brosnan, JK Rowling, Ian Rankin, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Greta Scaatchi and Richard Wilson.

Dazzle Edinburgh is on at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh EH1 2ED (tel 0131 200 4858) from 5 to 30 August 2004.  Opening hours are 10am to midnight seven days a week.  Admission is free.  Profiles of all the exhibitors can be found on the Dazzle website at www.zone-d.com
