Elements of Change, the unique three year maker in residence project led by Develop Craft Ayrshire, began its second year in September.
In a successful first year the project culminated in two exhibitions, one of work from the schools in the Vennel Gallery in Irvine, and a second at the Dick Institute showing work by the makers.
Three new makers and four new schools have been selected to partner for year two which runs until June 2005.
Laura Murray , a jewellery and textile maker has been selected to work with Castlepark, Glebe and Loudoun Montgomery Primary Schools.
Ceramicist Andrew Weatherhead was selected for a second year and will work with the Doon Academy cluster in Cumnock.
St Michaels Academy in Kilwinning has been selected to partner jeweller Sarah Keay .
Castle Primary School in New Cumnock will host the textile residency with Su Blackwell .
Throughout the term time public events will take place including workshops, lectures and seminars. The project will culminate in another two exhibitions of work in the same galleries.
