Young Scottish designer jeweller, Andrew Lamb, found his work thrust into the limelight when it appeared in a stunning photograph on the front of the flyer for the Goldsmiths’ Fair 2004 which opens today in London.
His piece is shown being worn by a leopard and the stunning photograph also appears on the posters. Andrew, who is one of five recent graduates being showcased at the event was “bowled over” and thrilled when he saw the image.
Despite only being 25, Edinburgh-born jeweller Andrew Lamb has already built a reputation as one of the finest young jewellers of his generation in the UK. Since completing his undergraduate degree at Edinburgh College of Art, he has won several UK and International awards for his work including a £10,500 Dewar Arts Award from the Scottish Arts Council which enabled him to complete a Master’s Degree at the Royal College of London.
Other Scottish silversmiths and jewellers selected to show their work at the event are Shimara Carlow, Eileen Gatt, Adrian Hope, Grant McCaig , Eric N Smith and Graham Stewart.
The Fair provides the public with a unique opportunity of viewing and buying the very best of contemporary jewellery and silverware from Britain's leading designer jewellers and silversmiths.
It also provides an unrivalled opportunity not only to purchase exquisite jewels and silver items, many of which are not available through other usual retail outlets, but also to meet the designers face-to-face
