McManus Galleries and Museum in Dundee has acquired three contemporary ceramic works by Danish makers Per Ahlmann, Gitte Jungersen, and Michael Geertsen.
The acquisitions were made following a research trip to Denmark by curator, Clara Young, and were funded by the National Collecting Scheme for Scotland.
These acquisitions are just a few of 65 purchases made by the six museums participating in the scheme since it was launched in April 2003.
The National Collecting Scheme for Scotland is operated by the Contemporary Art Society, and in partnership with six Scottish museums focuses on purchases of challenging visual and applied arts and the curatorial development to support and extend collections. The current phase of the scheme runs until March 2006 with funds from the National Lottery through the Scottish Arts Council.
