Naoko's use of materials and influences, the folded Japanese paper combined with European precious metals, are testament to the influences of her mother country and adoptive home.

In her home country of Japan, paper is prized for its lightness and versatility, and this inspired Naoko to use it as a jewellery material and bring paper to a new audience.
