What is RSS?
1. TITLE
eg. Mr, Mrs, Miss, Ms, Dr, Prof
2. FORENAME/S
3. SURNAME *
This is mandatory. Note that if a Business name is specified, because makers market themselves under another name, then that will take precedence and be used for searching, ordering and displaying search results.
4. BUSINESS NAME *
This is to allow for Makers that may have a distinct business name. If this field is left blank, then Surname will be used for search functionality and displaying/ordering search results (in conjunction with Forename).
5. ADDRESS
This is optional as some makers have expressed concern of addresses being publicly available. This information will be visible on a Maker’s own webpage (if specified).
6. LOCAL ENTERPRISE AREA
This area will not be referred to on the craftscotland website but is required if we are to provide 3rd party organisations' systems (and therefore websites) with the ability to process information on craft makers in their areas. For the same reason an additional area definition follows.
7. LOCAL AUTHORITY
As above, this area will not be referred to on the craftscotland website but is required if we are to provide other organisations with the ability to process information on crafts Makers in relation to Local Authority Area.
8. CONTACT TELEPHONE No.
This is the main number that you want to be contacted on. Some makers have expressed a preference for this to be their Association’s number; with their agreement, the contact number can be specified as you see fit. This information will be visible on the search results listings as well as makers’ own webpage.
9. MOBILE TELEPHONE No.
This will be visible on makers’ own webpages (if specified).
10. EMAIL ADDRESS
It is entirely your choice as to whether you want this to appear.

Please indicate:
(a) if you wish to have the email address displayed on the website, and
(b) if you wish to have an automatic ‘mailto’, with users getting a ‘new message’ window on selecting your email address.
   
   
11. URL
Uniform Resource Locator or web address. It’s your choice again as to whether you want your website address to appear.

Note that inclusion on the Crafts Website will give Makers a distinct URL under the craft Scotland ‘umbrella’; however, this URL data item applies to Makers with separate websites.

Please indicate:
(a) if you wish to have your URL displayed on the website, and
(b) if you wish to have an automatic ‘hyperlink’ set up for users to navigate directly to your website.
   
   
12. COMMISSIONS
As for Email Address and URL, this information will be visible on the makers’ own webpage.
   
13. PRICE RANGE
A short phrase giving an overview of the price of your work eg. ‘Prices range from £100’, or ‘Prices from £100-£2000’. This information will be visible on makers’ webpage.
14. DATE ESTABLISHED
This is optional as it is not crucial information, but possibly something that may be relevant to some users, or useful for future data searching. If specified, this information will be visible on makers’ webpage.
15. PRIMARY OUTLETS OUTSIDE SCOTLAND
We are collecting data on Outlets as well as Makers, but those outside Scotland are not required to be as detailed as those inside Scotland, hence this residing with Makers’ info. This information will be visible on Makers’ webpages.
16. AWARDS WON *
The ability to search for Makers by Awards is required.
