Learn to use hand-appliqué with fashion designer Emily Millichip, and make a bespoke pair of tropical blooms in leather or felt.
Emily will walk you through using hand-appliqué to create a completely unique pair of supersize tropical flower earrings so you can adorn your ears in handmade florals this summer.
Emily Millichip is an Edinburgh-based fashion designer, who makes vibrant clothes and accessories with a vintage twist. Emily is known for her use of colourful prints and textiles, often sourced on her travels from across the world. Her inspirations include the tropics, Carmen Miranda, and good girls gone bad. Her design philosophy is to bring mischief and fun into the everyday. Moving away from what is traditionally regarded as 'Scottish Design', Emily considers her work part of the global design conversation. She has carved her own career path, eschewing the traditional fashion calendar for a more anarchic approach to design and making.
All materials and refreshments will be provided.
This workshop will run from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 6 August 2017.
