Craft Scotland is a registered charity based in Edinburgh. This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you use this website.

Craft Scotland complies with both the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications 2002/58/EC. We also implement our own best practice methodology. This goes further than existing legislation and is designed to ensure that personal data is always treated ethically.
 
Information Collection

We collect information when you sign up for our email bulletin or register as a maker or outlet on our directory. We also collect information when you voluntarily complete feedback/web forms or email us. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

How will we use the information about you?
Information gathered from the maker or outlet directory submission form is used to process your application for inclusion on the craftscotland directory. 

Craft Scotland will need to contact with when we perform maintenance or make structural changes to the directory. Such contact will be minimal. You have the right to stop such contact by emailing hello@craftscotland.org, however this may affect your directory entry in the event of technical website changes.

By registering on the directory, the information you have chosen to be publicly visible will be displayed on the website, and will be accessible to both national and international visitors to the website.

If you have signed up for our email bulletin, we will use the details you provided to send you regular newsletters and updates via email. We will not share this information for marketing purposes with other companies.

 
Marketing
Our email bulletin is used by us to send you regular updates on events, news, and features on craftscotland and the craft sector. If you have consented to receive these newsletters, you may opt out a later date.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted, please email hello@craftscotland.org.
 
Access to your information and correction
We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information from the directory that you think is inaccurate.

You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you would like a copy please email hello@craftscotland.org from the address registered to your community page/email subscription.
