Andrew Weatherhead - Ceramics

A post graduate of Glasgow School of Art, Andrew has run a studio close to the shore in Irvine for 13 years.

Discoveries made during beach walks provide a source of information and intrigue and this has played a major part in informing and inspiring his recent work.  Mollusc shapes formed from layers of earthenware clays, some dug from the region, result in elegant and refined objects, which often possess a translucent and ethereal quality.

He has widely exhibited including participation in ‘Hot Off the Press’, ‘The Plate Show’ and ‘The Great Divide’.  His work has also been cited in many publications and books.
