Angus Ross - Furniture

Angus relocated to Aberfeldy from Oxfordshire in 1993, and works primarily to commission.  His approch is to focus on and explore the interaction between the user and object, and by using a blend of tradition and innovation create original, elegant and enduring work.

This garden funnel seat is constructed from laminated and sculpted air dried oak with stainless steel spacers. The surface is left unfinished and will gracefully grey then ‘silver’ with weathering.

Recent commissions include chancel furniture for New Haven Church in Edinburgh, functional artwork for a community project in Bristol and courtyard benches for a health centre in London.

He also produces a range of limited edition pieces of steam bent furniture in native ash.
