craftscotland entry for Big Picture Film Competition

The aim of craftscotland is to promote the best of Scottish crafts and one of our objectives is to get Scottish craft on TV.  The right TV series or programme could help re-position crafts, instill positive perceptions and show Scotland’s world class makers to the world.

With this in mind, in March craftscotland invited the crafts community to help us to enter the Big Picture Film Competition, set up by Tayscreen Scotland.  We received over 12 entries and we edited these together into a new film and entered it in the competition.

The winning film will be promoted by the Tourism Innovation Group and by Tayscreen to a global network of contacts in advertising production. The film will also be used as the Tourism Innovation Group’s new promotional film. The resulting film may also be used as a pilot to show film production companies, with a view to them commissioning a craft on TV concept.

As soon as we hear the results they will be published here.
