Craft Scotland works in partnership with exciting organisations to bring makers out of the studio and into novel spaces. Together, we deliver projects and events all across Scotland, and we're looking for this year's partners.

Meet Your Maker events might take the form of demonstrations, showcases or workshops. Participants can learn more about a maker’s design process; see the skill, commitment and creativity involved in creating a piece of work.

Meet Your Maker has grown from an original Craft Scotland project which brought the skills of quality craft makers into the public eye. Since its inception, together with our partners, we have presented 80 events to total audiences of over 13,000, working with nearly 200 makers. We have run projects at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) and Young Offenders Institution (YOI) Cornton Vale in Stirling, events with the Living Memory Association in Edinburgh, Dumfries & Galloway College and during the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Our Meet Your Maker programme will run again in 2017/18, but we will be adapting the project. It is our plan to partner with select organisations to create a more extensive, in-depth series of events. We are interested in partnering with organisations that want to build craft and/or makers into their annual programme of activity; by running a series of activities throughout the year at more targeted audiences with our support.

We are now accepting proposals for Meet Your Maker projects which will take place before March 2018.

Please find more information about Meet Your Maker, including the full criteria and details about how to apply, by downloading our Guidance Pack. You can then apply using our online application form.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.

If you have any questions about Meet Your Maker, or would like to discuss a potential partnership proposal, then please get in touch with Allyson Gee, Project Assistant, by emailing or phone 0131 466 3870.
