To help celebrate a milestone birthday in 2012, Shrewsbury Flower Show is calling for craft exhibitors to become part of 125 years of history by showcasing their wares at the world’s longest running flower show.
With more than 50,000 visitors anticipated across the weekend of the 10th and 11th August, and a wide range of stand prices, locations and packages, the Shrewsbury Flower Show is the perfect opportunity to display goods to potential customers, come rain or shine!
Exhibitors benefit from a dedicated craft marquee, offering a unique opportunity to showcase products to potential customers. The Home and Craft Marquee is traditionally host to a wonderful range of over 100 craft stands, selling everything from handmade jewellery to wood turned wares from leading specialists, crafters and traders from the UK and overseas.
This year’s 125th Show promises to be the biggest and most exciting to date with a guest appearance by celebrity TV chef, Saturday Kitchen’s very own James Martin! No matter whether young or old, a lover of food or flowers, or an admirer of live music, there’s something for everyone.
For those with green-fingers there are over 3 million beautiful blooms on display as well as fruit, vegetables and floral art. Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations, hints and tips from TV gardener Chris Beardshaw and a range of floral experts. For food lovers, James Martin will be performing live cookery demonstrations at The Marches Food Hall, which is home to a wealth of artisan local produce for sale, whilst the Severn Marquee includes one of the largest wine and honey selections in the country!
This year, Shrewsbury Flower Show visitors can also enjoy live performances from Oysterband, one of the great live bands of Britain, whose recent album with June Tabor, Ragged Kingdom, was named Folk Album of the Year in Mojo Magazine and nominated for three awards in BBC's Radio 2 Folk Awards.
To top it all off, visitors will be treated to 12 hours of live arena entertainment including grade-A show jumping, thrilling quad bike and motorcycle stunt shows, and displays for all the family from Bob Hogg’s Sheepdogs! The action all culminates in a pyrotechnic extravaganza with an awe-inspiring firework display over the beautiful Shrewsbury Quarry.
