Fashion Foundry is a new business incubator and talent hub for fashion and textile designers in Scotland.

Focusing on the luxury market, Fashion Foundry offers 18 months business incubator support to ten of the country’s most promising designers, giving them the confidence and skills to maximise their creative and business potential.

This will be complemented by a series of industry events open to the wider fashion community, fostering a specialist network for the sector in Scotland.

Led by Cultural Enterprise Office in association with Wasps Studios, Fashion Foundry is funded by Creative Scotland, with additional support from Scottish Enterprise.

There are ten places available which are open to applicants from across Scotland: six places with studio residence in South Block, Glasgow and four places without studio residence.

Applications are invited from both start up and established businesses focussed on developing their business in designer fashion and textiles for the luxury market.

Fashion Foundry will galvanise business development for the designer fashion and textiles sector and accelerate ten of the country's most promising designers, giving them the confidence and skills to maximise their creative and business potential within the luxury marketplace.

• 6k worth of specialist support tailored to your business needs
• An environment to create, collaborate and network in Scotland
• The opportunity to capitalise on the growth of the international luxury market
• 18 months business incubator support will focus on providing participants with a tailored business development plan to suit their individual needs. Support and advice will be delivered within a peer group setting by the Fashion Foundry team of industry specialists.

Participants will be introduced to broader professional industry support so that they can operate with increased confidence and independence.

Complementing the business incubator support is a series of inspirational Industry Events encompassing master classes and panel discussions with designers and industry experts, all of which will be open to the wider designer fashion and textiles community.

The incubator is open for applications until midday Friday 20 July 2012.

We are looking for fashion and textile designers who:

• are committed to developing a business within Scotland's Fashion industry
• are starting their own business or are within 5 years of starting to trade
• aspire to supply the luxury market
• want to develop their capacity to produce work in Scotland
• want to develop their capacity to market and sell their work here and overseas
• have 2 years relevant industry / training experience
• have the time to focus on developing their business e.g. are not in full-time education or full-time employment from September 2012

are wanting to either 

• base themselves within shared studio premises in Glasgow for the duration of the incubator support

or 

• work from another Scottish base and can travel to Glasgow a minimum of 6 times a year

are legally entitled to live and work in the UK
