Visual Arts Scotland's open submission exhibition Converge offers the opportunity for artists, designers and makers working in all disciplines to test, showcase and engage work with a wider public. The exhibition is now open and we are delighted to announce that the inaugural Craft Scotland Prize of £500 was awarded to Polly Collins for her piece 'Slow Dining'.
Our first opportunities round-up for 2016 brings you a chance to get involved with Craft Tourism and the National Trust for Scotland. Kellie Castle and Garden and Hill of Tarvit, both in Fife, are inviting makers on a tour of their properties, with the opportunity to discuss potential craft events to be held in either location.
The Crafts Council has selected 41 maker businesses to take part in the six-month Hothouse programme, delivered in partnership across the UK. Craft Scotland is once again sponsoring places for six Scottish-based makers.
