Dorothy Hogg: A Creative JourneyOur online exhibition looks at the creative journey taken by jeweller Dorothy Hogg MBE from the 1960’s to the present day. Her fascination with jewellery grew from working in her grandfather's shop in Troon, and after studying at Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art, she set up her studio in Edinburgh in the 1970's. Her work is exhibited internationally and held in a number of public collections both in the UK and abroad. She was Head of the Jewellery and Silversmithing Department at Edinburgh College of Art from 1985 to December 2007 and many of the students she has taught have also gone on to gain international reputations. In 2008 she will be represented at Collect: the International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects by the Scottish Gallery. Click on images to enlarge. |
