2008 craftscotland at Homes & Interiors Scotland

craftscotland held our third exhibition at the Homes & Interiors Scotland Exhibition in the SECC in August 2008. 

We presented three exciting groups of work by a total of 33 Scottish makers:

Limited Edition Collection

A collection of exclusive work, only for sale at the exhibition, and created by ten Scottish makers.   The new pieces include cuckoo clock wallpaper by Johanna Basford, the Unwanted Papooses by Lisa Rae Hansen, ceramics by Andrea Walsh, Fiona Thompson, Frances Priest and Hannah McAndrew, glass by Glasstorm and Inge Panneels, black willow pods by Lise Bech and Pi stools by Sam Chinnery.

Meet the Makers

An opportunity to talk to eight makers about their work and buy direct from them including printed textiles by mouse and bean, woven interior textiles by Yungi, furniture by Angus Ross and Adrian McCurdy, textile figures by Paola McClure, gilt mirrors and frames by Lynwood Carvers and Gilders, glass lighting by Elin Isaksson and architectural glass by IDAGOS.

Design Talent

A unique exhibition selected by curators across Scotland from the recent degree shows held at the five Scottish art colleges.  The fifteen graduates showing work are:

Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design –

Deborah Cumming, textiles, Fe Louise Coull, silver and jewellery and Alanna Cochrane, lamppot

Glasgow School of Art – Rachel Fox, ceramics and Angela Pointon, ceramics

Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen – Libby Day, metalwork, Angela Sutherland, textiles and Louise Farrell, ceramics.

Edinburgh College of Art – Julia Malle, glass, Katherine Rider, furniture, Ellie Grittiths-Moore, textiles, Grace Winteringham, textiles and Katia Stewart, furniture.
