Our featured maker this month is silversmith Grant McCaig who is holding an exhibition of new work at the Scottish Gallery in April. He is inspired by the objects of the sea and in finding simple solutions to the design of everyday objects. His work is also currently on show in The Cutting Edge at the National Museum of Scotland and in Silver of the Stars which is touring internationally. Read more »

Apply for our exhibitions at Collect 2008 and Homes & Interiors Scotland
A craftscotland exhibition showcasing quality Scottish craft will be held at the Homes & Interiors Scotland Exhibition 2007at the SECC in Glasgow on 8 and 9 September 2007. The stand will be in a prime spot in the centre of the hall and will show pieces suitable for the home.

craftscotland is also applying to exhibit the best of Scottish craft at Collect 2008: The international art fair for contemporary objects at the V&A in London. Applicants must show evidence of the collectible nature of their work, their reputation, existing markets and aesthetics and an existing or growing international reputation.
