This month we feature the work of surreal toymaker David Swift.  This character, scared tiger, is one of the stars of his animated film 'Nocturne in Sea Shark:  a tale of love, betrayal and ice-cream', which will premiere at the St Magnus Festival on 20 June 2006.  The film, funded by a Creative Scotland Award,  is based in Sicily and Orkney and will show at the Glasgow Film Theatre in September this year.  Read more »

A new willow sculpture by internationally renowned American artist Patrick Dougherty is now ‘in-residence’ on the Brahan Estate near Dingwall.  craftscotland and willow artist Anna King interviewed Patrick about his work during the construction.  Read more »

First craftscotland Exhibition

On 9 and 10 September 2006 we will hold our first craftscotland offline exhibition at the Homes and Interiors Scotland Exhibition 2006 at the SECC in Glasgow.   The exhibition will show the best of Scottish craft and will include furniture, silver, textiles, baskets, glass and ceramics by makers from across Scotland including ceramicist Simon Ward, furniture designer Adrian McCurdy and textile designer Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor.
