Craft Experiences at the Festival in Edinburgh

Fresh and New 2007, a new selling exhibition of work by recent Scottish jewellery graduates, is just one of the craft experiences that can be enjoyed during the Festival in Edinburgh.

The new exhibition has been started by jewellers Caroline Smith and Sarah McAdam, who both graduated from Edinburgh College of Art last year, and who hope to organise further exhibitions showing new jewellery graduates from Scottish art colleges.  It is on at 28 Lady Lawson Street, Edinburgh from 4 to 31 August 2007. 

Clay 2007 is a special exhibition for the Adam Pottery, as it is the 25th anniversary of the business started by ceramicist Janet Adam.  Six ceramicists have studios in the pottery - Chris Donnelly, Craig Mitchell, Lara Scobie, Cosima Sempill, Fiona Thompson and Rececca Wilson – which can be found at 76 Henderson Row, Edinburgh and is open from 6 August to 1 September open Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm. 

Broken Threads is a Fringe exhibition by Edinburgh milliners Rosy Naylor and Fawns Reid and takes place from 5 August to 1 September 2007 at Fabhatrix, 13 Cowgatehead, Edinburgh. Open daily 12 to 6pm (except 13 to 25 August 2007 10am-8pm).

And this year New Scottish Furniture 2007, an exhibition of work by members of the Scottish Furniture Makers Association, is taking place at 67 Northumberland Street, Edinburgh.  Exhibiting are Ian Grant, Adrian Hickey, Tom Provost, Sam Chinnery, Nicholas Perring, Namon Gaston Iain Moffat, Jack Roots, John Mackinnon, Tom Cooper, Chris Scotland &Alan Dalgety, Ember Hall, Richard Brockbank, David Halcro, Don Abbott, Gavin Robertson, Peter Toaig, Angus Ross, Jonathan Lassen and Robbie Reid.  The exhibition is on from 8 August  to 2 September 2007. Open daily 11am to 7pm.  Admission £2.
