The fourth year of North East Open Studios from 15 to 24 September is the biggest and best yet with over 150 artists and venues taking part.
The event is the ideal opportunity for visitors to share the experience of creativity with artists and makers and find out more about the skills they use to create their work.
One of the makers taking part in the event is glass artist Gordon Watt who is based in Deeside. In his glass studio they work with kilnformed‚ kilncast and stained glass to produce windows‚ sculptures and vessels for domestic‚ commercial and ecclesiastical spaces.
His fused glass is influenced by natural processes and textures and reflects his desire to experiment. His most recent work is inspired by water, from aerial views of wave crests to the pattern of spray on the deck of a surfboard.
North East Open Studios takes place from 15 to 24 September 2007 and details about the studios taking part can be found at www.northeastopenstudios.co.uk
