The 2008 Loch Lomond Quilt Show opens today with over twenty exhibitions showing over 450 quilts in over ten locations alongside a series of workshops.
The annual four day quilting festival, now in its fourth year, aims to showcase the work of Scottish quilters, contemporary and traditional, and to celebrate this aspect of Scottish textile history.
Highlights this year include work by Pauline Burbidge, one of the UK’s leading textile artists, Clyde Olliver, supported by an Embroiders Guild bursary, who stitches in stone, a Shibori and Indigo exhibition by Janice Gunner and miniature quilts by American, Tina Gravatt.
There are also exhibitions by Janice Gunner, Nikki Tinkler, Delia Salter, Lilian Hedley and Patricia Archibald, as well as group exhibitions.
The show also includes workshops, trader’s area and social events.
