About Me

Personal Statement

The studio was established by Fiona Thompson and Chris Donnelly in 2012. Fiona is an established ceramic artist with 20 years' experience making ceramics for exhibition and commission. She specialises in handbuilding and surface imagery. She has taught ceramics to a variety of people over the years, in community centres, universities and colleges, art centres, healthcare settings, and her own studio. Co-director Chris has also taught a wide range of people over the years. He makes wheel thrown printed vessels and small-batch slip cast pieces, and offers occasional specialist throwing workshops/tuition. Our third director is weaver, designer and tutor James Donald. As well as workspace for Fiona and Chris, the studio provides regular ceramic classes and an open access facility for one off projects. It offers a range of facilities for beginners, professional artists/designers, and students. Based at Beaverhall Art Studios, the studio is bright, clean and spacious. There are small class sizes, with a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
We can work to commission also. We also have an online shop.
For details on forthcoming classes and other facilities please see the website. Visitors are welcome but strictly by appointment- we are a small studio and may be teaching or working on other projects.
