About Nicky Mcalindon - Hebridean Humpties

Personal Statement

Hebridean Humpties are toys made from Harris Tweed; they range from the ancient Celtic MacHumpty Clan to the modern day. I also do Norse Numpties which are Vikings. The Hebridean Humpties and Norse Numpties can be found in various locations in Stornoway and down in Tarbert Harris. There is also a website Hebridean Humpties.com.

The Humpties have been on BBC2 Scotland in January 2008 on the kids programme 'de a nis'. I do commissions whether it is someone’s favourite colour or imitations of people, i.e. The Proclaimers, both had Humpty lookalikes at the 2007 Celtic Festival. I have also done a personal commission for the first minister and hope to be involved with the Scottish Children’s Hospice campaign.

Shops in Stornaway include An Llantair Arts Centre, The Woodland Centre, Ceol the music shop and the main Harris Tweed shop in Tarbert, run by Catherine Campbell.

Year Established: September 2007
