About Me

Personal Statement

Scottish designer, Linda Macdonald, graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1996 and started her business 1 year later. Her aim of making quality, contemporary jewellery at competitive prices has helped achieve her goal of supplying a growing number of galleries and shops including a UK-wide chain of department stores, whilst also undertaking individual commissions.

The simple lines of nature and the contrast of different coloured metals have inspired her jewellery, some of which also encompass the mixing of metals using the ancient Japanese sword-making technique of “mokumé gane”.

Since starting in business, Linda Macdonald Handmade Designer Jewellery has won various awards for its achievements from the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative and Livewire to Scottish Gift of the Year 2002. In 2003 her jewellery and marketing strategies were also Highly Commended by the Judges in the Gift of the Year awards 2003.

Linda Macdonald handmade designer jewellery is available from small stud earrings to tiaras. We also make men’s jewellery, i.e. cufflinks and tie-pins etc.

Year Established: August 1997
