Oil and Glass is an outlet for affordable contemporary art and craft. The gallery specialises in Visual Arts and Kilnformed Glass, most of which is created in house by owner and painter/glassmaker Shelagh Swanson and invited Artists in Residence.
Jewellery parties and workshops are provided for children, adults and community groups within the studio area. Regular events, openings and special exhibitions will compliment this educational programme, in the aim of creating an exciting and diverse cultural hub.
Artists from a variety of disciplines are given the opportunity to spend time as Artists in Residence, to develop their own work and also produce items for sale within the gallery. This scheme is particuarly aimed at recent graduates to provide them with an intitial insight into the workplace.
