About Me

Personal Statement

Peter Goodfellow is originally from Australia and is currently based in the Scottish Highlands. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making graduating in 1999 with an Upper Merit.
Peter's passion is in crafting fine quality concert violins, violas and violoncellos. The inspiration for his work is taken from the classical Italian masters in combination with modern concepts and interpretation.
His interests are in classical design, acoustics research and the incorporation of modern technology to achieve consistency and sound quality in his instruments.
By its very nature violin making is a solitary occupation. Peter's approach is one of continual learning and development and collaboration with musicians and like minded colleagues provides that stimulus.
His instruments have received awards at several major international competitions including Gold Medals for Cello in Mittenwald 2010 and the VSA 2010.
