I am a maker primarily working with the domestic environment.
Creating two and three dimensional, functional and non-functional pieces my work is based around domestic craft and vintage objects and interiors. Modernisation, change and reproduction inspire me to create work that present a narrative for our domestic past.

GalGael build and sail wooden boats in celebration of Scotland's heritage - providing a focal point, around which a whole number of community benefits can unfurl. Engaged in this way, a wide array of pieces have been created, across a broad spectrum of indigenous crafts; from boatbuilding to furniture making, timber framing to blacksmithing, basketweaving to leather carving and granite carving. At times traditional, at others contemporary, they are united by a common theme of integrity of the natural materials used. Indigenous motifs and local history also feature regularly in GalGael’s work.
