Daniel Lacey is an award-winning designer maker of contemporary furniture from wood, based in Langholm. He specialises in bespoke sculptural furniture from local hardwoods.
David has worked in ceramics for over 40 years. Former Head of Ceramics at the Glasgow School of Art (1986 - 1991) he specialises in Raku and designing large high fired plate compositions for corporate and private commission. David’s work beautifully explores themes dealing with nature and the human figure. David’s work and studio can be seen by visiting the Pitclay Gallery in East Lothian.
Stoneware pottery made by jigger and jolley, hand throwing, and extruder, every piece is assembled and finished by hand and then free hand decorated. We make all our own clay and glazes which are fired to 1300 degrees Centigrade giving a richness and depth of quality, with performance and durability. Inspired by the flora and fauna and abstract themes which make use of our glaze qualities. .
I started sculpting forms in clay and stone then moved into smaller ceramic mobiles, jewellery, tiles and miscellaneous objects.

After an early and very traditional academic art education, Diana later found more freedom of expression and a more contemporary approach in the very fluid and painterly medium of water-soluble dye. For many years she simply enjoyed this process, and during this time became a maker of unique accessories and garments.

Hunter Art and Tile Studio is a family run workshop specialising in ceramic murals and tiles. The studio forms part of Harestanes Crafts Courtyard.
Tube-lining is a traditional pottery process which Hunter Art and Tile Studio specialise in. Liquid clay is piped onto the unglazed tiles to create a pictorial or decorative outline, pigments and glazes are added and the piece is fired in the kiln. The finished tiles have rich durable colours and lively detail.
Dovecot champions art, design and craftsmanship at the very highest level and across creative disciplines. The building houses three museum quality galleries as well as Dovecot Studios, an internationally renowned tapestry weaving studio, and IC:Innovative Craft.
