Ross Ketteridge is a co-owner and director of Real Wood Studios, a collective of self-employed cabinet makers based in the inspiring woodland setting of Monteviot Nurseries in the Scottish Borders. It is owned and run by the makers as a not-for-profit cooperative. It works closely with the charity Borders Forest Trust which has a minority shareholding in the company.
I design furniture and architectural joinery in an Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau style (1890-1910), from kitchens and garden studios to beds and dining tables, with front doors, bookcases and radiator covers a specialty. I regularly use stained glass, beaten copper, and engravings in my work. Almost everything is bespoke; there are few objects generally for sale.
