Duncan House is the home, workshop and gallery of Garth Duncan, renowned Goldsmith of Celtic and Pictish jewellery and objects of art. Also displayed, is work from other high level local artists.
The gallery with its 20 foot ceilings and views of the ocean is reminiscent of baronial halls from long ago.
All work is done on site in Garth’s private workshop. Tours are not available of the workshop area but it can be viewed from the gallery.
Duncan House is located between Broadford and the picturesque fishing village of Elgol in a grand old stone-built Steading overlooking Loch Slapin on Southern Skye. The Steading is 11 miles down a single tract road, surrounded by croft land and bordering on a John Muir trust preserve.
With the views of the sea, Blaven and the Cullins as a backdrop, the location is a continued inspiration for his work and research into Scottish history and design.

Using handmade blocks of paper as a base, Emma Noble creates textured, multi-layered prints which echo the surfaces, shapes and colours of the urban environment.
Blocks of paper are made by hand using a variety of found/recycled paper.
Nothing can be more satisfying than creating a work of art from a piece of wood, it can be very therapeutic and rewarding. It is also nice to have a challenge, when asked to create something to a customers specification. The items I have created vary from wooden pens to salt and pepper sets.
I try to use native woods from Scotland such as Oak, Sycamore, Beech, and again if requested
will use other types.
Fife Contemporary Art and Craft runs a contemporary visual art and craft programme from its office in St Andrews Town Hall.
A professional sculptor also undertaking Lettercutting. I design and hand cut unique inscriptions in stone. Work comprises memorials, plaques, relief carvings and architectural details. Advice given on all aspects of commissioning memorial work.
Gerard Carlin of Poetic Stone creates letter cut and stone pieces. Carlins work often features poems cut into stone using hieroglyphics and other ancient alphabets. Other work includes stone carvings, which are used as inspiration for poems, Carlin then embeds the poem within the original stone piece. A printed copy of the poem may be supplied on request.
