Tenterhooks products are all carefully designed and hand crafted by the company’s sole director, Deirdre Anne Murphy. Using a combination of quality silks, satins, suedettes and velvets, mixed with sturdy corduroy, denim and cotton prints, she produces a collection of vibrant, luxurious, yet hard wearing, handbags, purses, hats and cushions. In addition to this she also produces a limited range of hand woven wool scarves, cushions and blankets.
Jellyfish, oranges and lemons, grasses in the sunlight are some of the sources of inspiration for the scarves; while the steaming process and combination of pure silk and high quality dyes results in colours of radiance and depth.

I create a range of contemporary products from pressed wool felt including necklaces, bracelets, brooches, bags, purses, notebooks and cushions.
