Amanda designs and makes kiln formed and cameo engraved glass for architectural, interior and sculptural settings.
Current inspiration includes looking at botanicals used in the pharmaceutical industry and plants which are toxic, linking to my first Pharmacology degree, and continuing to exploit the properties of gravity within the kiln whilst making unique vessels.

I hand make crystal glass jewellery from my studio in East Lothian. Each piece begins life as raw, uncoloured crystal glass, which I hand blow, cut and sculpt. I then layer and fuse the glass with precious metals and crushed glass to form a glass jewel, which I finish by hand wrapping with sterling silver.
Amy Lowson of Greentree Crafts creates jewellery from her workspace in Edinburgh.
Lowson takes inspiration from natural shapes and personal stories, experimenting in metal including copper and silver and using patina to create different colours and finishing with gemstones to complete each unique piece of jewellery. Lowson's current activity focuses on silversmithing.
I work with bone china clay combined with paper to create vessels which are each unique yet compliment each other as a series of works. Some vessels contain glass which is cast directly inside the piece - emulating liquid contained within the form. These works have a quiet, contemplative quality, particularly when viewed as groups or installations.
I am a designer, handcrafting mainly accessories such as handbags, hats, scarves and belts; these form the basis of my winter collections. I love natural materials, such as the shells I have incorporated in some of my work. Natural forms, another passion and large influence, I have managed to incorporate mostly through my embroidery.
My style is a mixture between traditional techniques and a stylish and elegant touch added to the functionality of practical accessories.
