I make a selection of handmade jewellery, mostly one-off pieces with some limited production earrings. A variety of materials are used in my work including gold, silver, copper, slate, enamel and mother of pearl. The slate is hand cut and shaped with silver or mother of pearl inlaid into some pieces. I enamel on silver and copper using dry powder enamel. Many layers of enamel are built up in-between firings. The enamel is then rubbed back with a carborundrum stone to reveal colours and patterns underneath.
I make contemporary jewellery in predominately precious materials. My influences include japanese textiles and architecture and I use enamel, gemstones, paper, felt, porcelain and gold leaf to create contrasting colour.
