I am interested in producing work from a narrative relating to the wearer. This allows me to produce a piece which is directly related to the wearer and is much more than just a decorative object.
We design and make ceramic tiles to commission quickly and efficiently, everything from a single tile to an entire wall. As professional makers since 1988 we have accumulated an understanding of ceramic methods and materials which is probably unrivalled in Scotland today.
Products: Handmade tiles, interior and exterior wall tiles, tile murals, unique installations, digital ceramic tiles, coloured glazes, lettering, landscape scenes, Aga panels and tile splashbacks, and fireplace tiles.
Hunter Art and Tile Studio is a family run workshop specialising in ceramic murals and tiles. The studio forms part of Harestanes Crafts Courtyard.
Tube-lining is a traditional pottery process which Hunter Art and Tile Studio specialise in. Liquid clay is piped onto the unglazed tiles to create a pictorial or decorative outline, pigments and glazes are added and the piece is fired in the kiln. The finished tiles have rich durable colours and lively detail.
Ceramic artist, Duncan Hood creates individual and innovative works in porcelain inspired from land and seascape.

I make wheel-thrown Earthenware, stoneware and burnished Raku vessels through which I try to reflect the light, landscape and heritage of my Orcadian surroundings. These range from "Peedie Bird" mugs to large vases and commissioned bowls.
My porcelain pieces are inspired by the fragments of shell and bone washed up onto the beach with each tide.
Hand built ceramics inspired by sunsets in over the West of Scotland's coastline. Slimline vases for a single stem. Wonky tactile pinched tea cups in matte black and egg shell blue. White pierced light spheres.
We are a small scale studio pottery based in the rural and remote area of the Scottish Borders called the Ettrick Valley.
We specialise in the production of handthrown and hand decorated functional stoneware ceramics. All the pots are hand thrown by Mark. The hand decorated range is designed and rendered free-hand by Elisabeth. All our work is high fired to cone 10, 1300oC.
