I combine traditional knitting techniques with a well-shaped, tailored silhouette to create an extremely comfortable but undoubtably sexy women's wear collection. My fabrics are made of the finest yarns of silk, alpaca, wool and cotton and each garment is finished by hand to ensure the highest quality.
Felt & print studio on small organic farm on island off South Ronaldsay on Orkney. The felts are colourful wall pieces made from sheep's fleece and depict fluid designs inspired by life and movement. Largest size is 4' x 6'. The prints are strong images mainly of wildlife on silks and cottons ranging from cards to large pieces.

Claire works in textile and illustration to commission and sells in the UK, USA and Europe. Working commercially, for exhibition and to individual commission she trades as INCAHOOTS. Claire is a textile artist/designer whose work involves mixed media technique working in an illustrative manner. She exhibits extensively throughout the UK and is commissioned by private and commercial clients.
The combination of knitted textiles used with willow is a new concept and the final vessels are visually successful. These multi functional designs have great potential for expansion into a range of product lines including; lighting, furniture, blinds and room dividers, storage vessels and outdoor decorative pieces, etc. I would also look at creating “special” one-off commission pieces.
My work is based on biological identity, our inner self exposed on our outer clothing. knitwear inspired by our D.N.A and biological make-up.
