Using elements of breathing as a constant theme, Suilven Plazalska explores the limits of air and expansion, defining the enclosed and surrounding space - space as container but also contained.
I work mainly in silver, enamel and a speckly effect enamel! Work is very contemporary but I love my work to be worn on a daily basis so it is very practical. Its best described as colourful.
My work is mainly made from silver and 9ct gold although very often I incorporate other materials such as cold enamel, perspex and stones. The inspiration for my jewellery is drawn from many different sources such as traditional Mexican symbolism, sealife and tarot cards, sometimes even sweets! I like to see my jewellery worn so for these reasons I like to keep it simple but at the same time eye-catching and the splash of colour I often add works very well for this!
Susie Thompson makes fine, collectable hand-built porcelain. Susie focuses on finely detailed, intricate modelling to a very high standard. She uses traditional skills, brought up to date. She makes delightful small, decorative pieces such as boxes decorated with flowers, as well as the dragons for which she is well known, and much more. The more detailed pieces are often left bisque (unglazed and uncoloured). She also decorates her work with a rainbow of enamels and sometimes lustres. Commissions are welcomed.
