I am an independent designer jeweller who can make to order one-off items of gold or silver jewellery for any occasion and on my website there is a large selection of ranges to suit all tastes and budgets.
I am happy to discuss ideas, so feel free to contact me either by phone or email through my website.
My jewellery is essentially inspired by the materials I use and the technique I have established. By compressing the finest gauge of 18ct yellow gold and fine silver wire I create an intriguing solid mesh form. Fusing this wire allows me to achieve interesting 2D and 3D structures. Subsequently designing and handmaking innovative collections of wearable, contemporary jewellery.
Through the themes of repetition, connection, space and contrast, traditional materials; such as silver, 18ct gold and freshwater pearls and conventional jewellery techniques are given a contemporary twist.
My interest is across the whole spectrum of metalwork. I work with clients on site specific projects within the field of architecture, both exterior and interior, and also sculpture for the public domain and within the private garden.
My work is innovative and original. It challenges conventional thought and often uses a combination of metals/materials to achieve a concept. Ideas and the process of making combine to explore and develop this to its ultimate.

I work mainly in silver and like to create quirky pieces which are inspired by the world around me. I live in the country and my farmyard brooches are a reflection of my love of all things rural. I include semi precious charms of different shapes and colours in many of my piece and enjoy the look of most things eclectic.
Circa 72 Jewellery was created in 2010 and is the creative passion of Glasgow based designer and maker Kary Purvis. Kary takes inspiration from nature, her childhood surroundings and personal treasured memories to create beautiful and unique jewellery. Selecting her materials carefully, Kary works mainly in silver using accents of gold and semi precious stones. Many of the pieces include layers and movement within that create an element of surprise and interest often using hidden cold connections to achieve this effect.
My varied background is mainly in Silversmithing but includes jewellery design and production experience. In my career I have been Self-Employed designing, producing, exhibiting and selling my own work but have also been lucky enough to work as part of a team in three well known and established workshops. I have a wide range of manufacturing skills working in precious metals, from small scale jewellery work to much larger silversmithing projects.
