Laura Cameron combines new and recycled silver with sea glass and sea pottery found along the south east coast of Scotland to create naturally antiqued and eco friendly jewellery.
The central focus of each piece is the re-emerging beauty of the long discarded piece of glass or pottery.
Leith School of Art is an independent art school running one-year courses and part-time classes in art and design.
Contemporary jewellery with a hint of tradition. I use precious metals with emphasis on surface decoration and treatment as well as stones especially diamonds and lots of pearls - Tahiti, South Sea and Chinese freshwater pearls. From earrings to big neckpieces and head gear for brides.
Pottery made by hand in a small family-run workshop, producing highly decorative hard-wearing functional domestic ware and tiles for all occasions and environments.
I use traditional skills and materials, silver, 18ct. gold, 22ct. gold, coloured stones and diamonds. My jewellery is comfortable and uplifting to wear every day as well as on special occasions. I like bold elegant designs with intricate surface details. I especially enjoy making finger rings and chains. This work is hand made and I am particular about quality, craftsmanship and technique.I teach specialist workshops in 22ct. gold granulation.
I am a hand spinner, and use my yarns to create everything from purses to large works for the wall.
I also make detailed collages incorporating recycled and found objects and my passion for colour has led me to create mixed media works for walls which often combine acrylic paints with fabrics, fibres and gold leaf.
