Liren Fey
Handmade, natural, contemporary, unique.
Felt maker and artist in Shetland combining traditional felt craft with contemporary design.
Using natural fibres I create high quality one-of-a-kind felt artwork, bags, scarves, vessels, forms, pouches, cases and journal covers under a broad scope of inspiration lead design. All of my products are handmade and unique to ensure you feel individual with anything branded Liren Fey.
My website [www.lirenfey.co.uk] offers galleries, shop and a felt making tutorial illustrating my methods and latest creations. There is also a link to my blog. With untamed enthusiasm, I have embraced this craft as my profession.
Kirsten is a jewellery designer and maker based in Aberdeen. She specialised in using silver and precious or non-precious stones.
My work explores the concepts of both digital and hand craft techniques by combining the traditional method of knitting with the industrial techniques possible on the Shima Sieki knitting machines, to produce a more contemporary feel to my fabric
I work in many different mediums, from textiles to painting. I incorporate feltmaking and found objects into a lot of my work, particularly knitwear. Everything is completely handmade and original. I am greatly inspired by the Shetland landscape. I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College in 1999. I paint and work in textiles mostly and I am also the co-ordinater of the Veer North Group on Shetland.
