Spring Fling is Scotland's premier art and craft open studios event. Each spring a selected group of professional artists and craft makers from Dumfries and Galloway throw open the doors of their studios to the public. The weekend is all about visiting studios, meeting artists and makers and seeing them work in their own environment.

Susie Leiper's work as a calligrapher and lettering artist embraces both the traditional and the innovative. As a scribe on Donald Jackson's St John’s Bible, the first handwritten bible for over five hundred years, she uses quills on vellum. Her highly individual pointed brush lettering and painting on Chinese paper and her handmade Chinese-style artist's books are witness to her long interest in Chinese culture.
