Aileen Lochhead is a contemporary fibre artist working primarily in crochet.
She designs and creates a variety of articles that are wearable and useful in the home. She strives to work with a recycled theme, particularly with rag rugs.
Aileen is keen to promote the art and craft of crochet, and publishes a multitude of free patterns for crochet and knitted items. She tries to incorporate 'vintage' into her work, either by inspiration or use of recycled materials.
Alex Feechan specialises in creating beautiful handcrafted knitted products for fashion and the home. The fabrics are inspired by the rich and rugged landscapes of Scotland, using the texture and colour to form the inspiration and starting point for each Alex Feechan collection.
The product range includes scarves, bags cushions and throws. Alex also collaborates with Architects and Interior designers to create one-off commission pieces for Public and private spaces.
Ali works with textiles & mixed media commercially, for exhibition and to commission. She is a community tutor in the Lothians and runs workshops & classes in design & mixed media techniques from her studio “The Purple Thread Shed” near Edinburgh.
