I am a weaver and I live and work in Westray Orkney. I trained at Shetland College on their Contemporary Textiles course.
I enjoy the whole process of weaving from the initial idea, through the designing the warp and setting up of the loom to the actual weaving and then the grand finale of taking the textile off the loom and finishing it.
My work is based on hand and jacquard woven fabrics that can be used for lighting, screens, blinds, and other interior applications. My textile passion lies in woven interior textiles and in the experimental manipulation of structures and geometric patterns. I love to combine traditional and modern weaving techniques to create three-dimensional innovative fabrics.
