Euchan House Gallery is situated on the outskirts of the Royal Burgh of Sanquhar, in the beautiful Dumfriesshire countryside. The artist, Noelle Stevenson, works from the adjoining studio, creating original silk paintings in a variety of styles and media, but always inspired by the natural world. Noelle also holds silk painting courses, in a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Absolute beginners welcome. Please contact her for full details.
I make pictures using freehand machine embroidery, using an ancient treadle Singer machine. I use the needle as my 'pencil' and 'sketch' around pieces of cut out fabric to add perspective and texture to my pictures. I put the pictures in frames or on cushions, t-shirts, whatever takes my fancy! It's scribbely, sketchy and spontaneous!
