Crikey Aphrodite - bespoke corsetry for every shape
I weave cloth, by hand, from wool (spun and unspun pedigree organic Shetland fleece), fine linen, naturally dyed silk and organically grown cotton.
As a Design Graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, I specialise in designing and making fascinators, cocktail hats and bridal headdresses.
Bell's practice has transitioned from hand painted silk accessories to textile installations which respond the natural environment and our place within it.
I hand make contemporary jewellery which echoes the past.
I love collections of old objects like in junk shops, attics and museums. I have spent time travelling through South America and the west coast of Scotland researching my own family ties and through this, sourcing inspiration.
Hi my name is Alison and l design and make a unique array of designer dichroic glass jewellery, which comes alive when you move about. l also do a varied selection of heamatite jewellery which is known to have healing powers as well as a vast amount of rose quartz, black agate, amethyst, blue howlite and much more. My other craft is stained glass and l have a beautiful selection of designer mirrors, unique lamps, vibrant sun catchers, stunning window and wall panels, lovely glass picture frames and glass gifts.
My jewellery explores space and movement around the wearers body.
Contrasting colour and texture fascinates me, and I seek to manipulate this by working with silver, oxidised silver, 18ct yellow gold, and semi-precious stones such as garnet, peridot and citrine. Hammered wire is often contrasted against smooth cupped sheet silver, and 18ct yellow gold will be found scattered amongst oxidised silver links.
