Working with art clay silver, polymer clay and semi-precious stone, I take my inspiration from the myriad of colours and shapes to be found in the flowers, plants and pebbles of our highland environment.
The objective of my Felt Making practice is to fuse technical innovation with artistic vision.
Fin Taw was established in 2009, the studio sits in a beautiful forest clearing at Harestanes. My Felts are handcrafted in the studio using traditional and contemporary felt making techniques and fine natural fibres: silk, ultra fine wools, alpaca, angora, and cashmere.
I am a traditional kiltmaker in Edinburgh. I have been making bespoke made to measure hand sewn kilts for over 20 years. I am highly experienced kiltmaker and I love my job.
I make bespoke bedspreads, wall hangings. Clients can supply their own fabrics for me to make up. I can trace and research tartans for the client enabling them to make a good choice of kilt.
Functional, decorative and architectural, I make contemporary stained glass. Mainly leaded light panels and fused and slumped pieces I also use many other mediums including glass mosaic and copperfoil; similar in style to lead but can be used to make more intricate, detailed designs. I also make silver jewellery, incorporating fused glass pieces into many of my designs.
